The tower for many years bore the logo of (what? dang! the urban lore has leaked entirely out of my ears, sigh.), After that company croaked? Bank of America wanted to put up their logo, the City balked, since it would then be a paid billboard that exceeded current standards. The compromise was for BofA to buy the building and slap their logo up for free.It isn't as ugly as the old logo anyway.
