An unofficial trip to work on the upper Gamboa Trail, Crew present: Robert Parks, Dave Nelson, Dave Knapp, Sandy James.
The immediate concern is reclaiming the completely overgrown section on the switchbacks from the Ceanothus, some treading and light logging probably also to be done.
Work done on this trip was included in the May 8th official VWA trip: Trip Leader's Report.
I arrived late Friday
evening and slept in my car. Early in the morning, I headed out to the junction
of the Coast Ridge Trail and the Gamboa trail and did a bit of work, as well as
taking a series of pictures to be turned into a short animation.
At the end of working, I went back to the car to retrieve various supplies: beer, ice, champagne, orange juice and a cooler. So we could have mimosas Easter morning. We left one bottle of beer in the spring, since we couldn't finish it.
Sunny and warm.
